Ideas to pitch on Shark Tank India for Students

Shark Tank India is a franchise of America’s Shark Tank where entrepreneurs from different sectors come forward to pitch their ideas and receive investment in return. 198 out of 62000 thousand startups were chosen for pitches and only a few got funded.

Over the last few years, India has witnessed a startup wave as more and more people are leaning towards entrepreneurship. We are finally at the stage where entrepreneurship is being celebrated rather than being looked down upon. Shark Tank has taken the Indian audience by storm and people from different parts of India are busy discussing it.

The fact that every household has an Entrepreneur who’s buzzing with ideas that come to life via the show is something to look forward to in today’s age. Ideas can be contagious and when it sticks to your mind, it’s difficult to get rid of them.

We have a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking for that one idea that might change their lives and impact other’s life, so, we have curated a list of startup ideas that you can start and also pitch on Shark Tank.

1. Reselling sneakers-

I am a sneakerhead and if you are one like me, you know how big this market is. I am always looking for new and improved sneakers and don’t mind spending a lot of money on them. The global market share was valued at USD 73070 million in 2019 and will continue this rise.

You can resell branded sneakers by adding a margin of your own. There are still a lot of people who want premium sneakers but can’t afford to buy them and when you resell them, the price eventually goes down.

A single pair of Jordan costs somewhat around 10-15k and if you decide to resell it, you can sell it at a lower price. This business can be started without a lot of initial investment.

Cons:

  • Low scaling options
  • You cannot add a huge margin of your own
  • Frauds

2. Nearby Cupid –

You’ve probably heard of dating apps like bumble, tinder, happn, etc. You can create a dating app or business networking app for your local community and charge a small fee in return for all the services. It could be the new tinder or bumble of your campus. You can either code or build it from scratch yourself or you can use platforms like zeroqode or WordPress to build these websites.

Cons:

  • Too much competition
  • Monopoly can be difficult
  • New players can enter the market anytime

3. Development Services-

In today’s era, every business needs a social presence to sustain and grow their business. Website development is one of the most paid skills and also one of the highest-paying jobs out there.

You don’t even have to learn how to code. You can build websites for your clients using sites like webflow, WordPress, Magento, zeroqode, and many more.

Cons:

  • Too much competition
  • Difficult to create a monopoly
  • Easy entry
  • Big players can enter the market easily.

4. Photography services –

You have probably heard of the saying, “jo dikhta h wahi bikta h” and it’s true to a huge extent. In today’s age, good branding, good packaging, good visuals are the key aspects of any product. You can start a photography business of your own and charge huge fees in return.

Can be a wedding photographer, brand photographer, event photographer, etc. You can start to create a brand of your own after a certain stage. My friend is a wedding photographer and he started his business with an initial investment of 20k and now he charges around 30k for a single shoot.

He gets to travel the world for free, eat delicious food and impact the lives of thousands of people every day. It obviously couldn’t have been without effort, hard work, and courage. A lot of people think you need a ton of money to start a photography business but, this is not the truth. Start with yourself and keep expanding the business as you grow.

Cons:

  • Delayed payments
  • Too much competition
  • Huge players in the market

5. Food Delivery Services –

You don’t have to start it at a major scale like Swiggy and Zomato. You can start with listing a few items like smoothies, sandwiches, momos, etc, and start by selling them to your friends or the people around you.

The investment is low as in the initial stages, you can deliver the food yourself and charge a low fee for people to list it on your platform. You just need to create a website and get started.

Cons:

  • Big players in the market
  • Time is a huge factor here
  • Distribution is a huge problem

6. Sell used books-

There are a ton of book lovers in the market and there is a huge demand for books among people. You can set up a website for people to sell their used books and in return, charge a small subscription fee in return.

You can start this business with low investment and then grow it into a big reselling company of your own. Amazon started like this and now is a big e-com giant with a huge market share.

Cons:

  • Trust issues
  • Fraud
  • Huge Competition

7. Influencer Marketing-

Most companies, rely on influencer marketing to sell their products and services and it is also one of the most trusted forms of marketing as it gives off a personal touch. There are so many influencers out there who are creating a huge impact but lack proper marketing.

You can connect them with small businesses and charge a small fee in return from both of them. You can grow it into a huge company in the future gathering all the influencers in one place and then charging big brands huge fees in return for it.

Cons:

  • Huge competition
  • Loyalty issue

Conclusion:

If you do try any of the ideas mentioned above and make it big and we know you certainly will, don’t forget to mention us in your ted talk😜.
