Chelsea Handler, the talk show host and comedian, and her comedian partner Jo Koy have officially separated after a year of marriage.

On the eve of the one-year anniversary, Handler made the announcement in a heartfelt Instagram Post.

Handler asked Koy in the video what lessons he'd learned in an intimate relationship over the last year. "It's fun to be in love and always be in the moment," Koy replied.

Handler said in a statement released alongside the video that they had taken a "break" from their relationship with a "heavy heart."
